Transportation & Mobility

Review service journeys across transport and mobility touchpoints.

A transport journey is the one customer experience that is genuinely end-to-end, and it is scored as one. A passenger does not distinguish between the ticketing app, the station, the vehicle and the person at the barrier — they experience one journey, and it is only as good as its worst leg. So the evaluation follows a whole trip, timed, with each leg scored in sequence rather than as an isolated encounter.

01 / How it is measured

That structure changes what the data is for. A station-by-station scorecard tells an operations manager which station to visit; a journey-by-journey scorecard tells them which interchange loses the passenger, which is a different and more expensive problem. Both are produced, because both have an owner.

Qatar's network makes this measurable in a way most markets do not. A single evaluated trip can cross metro, bus, a taxi or ride-hail leg and an airport terminal inside ninety minutes, with a defined interchange between each. Where a client operates only one leg, the surrounding legs are still recorded as context — an operator whose own service scores well inside a journey that fails is looking at a partnership problem, not a service problem.

Forecourt and fuel retail sits here too, provisionally. It is the mobility touchpoint most people use most often, and it is measured the way any service counter is measured: approach, transaction, accuracy, cleanliness, and whether the ancillary offer was made at all.

02 What we evaluate

14 criteria, written for this sector.

Observable by an evaluator, coachable by a manager, and agreed with you before fieldwork. A criterion nobody can act on is a column in a spreadsheet, not a finding.

Ticketing and fare purchase completed on the customer's own device, first attempt
Journey information accurate and available before boarding, not only after
Time from arrival at the stop or station to the vehicle departing
Interchange legibility — whether the next leg can be found without asking
Staff availability at the point a passenger is most likely to need one
Accessibility provision present, working, and usable without staff assistance
Vehicle and platform cleanliness at the time of travel, by daypart
Announcement clarity and bilingual coverage, Arabic and English
Disruption communicated proactively, with an alternative offered
Forecourt approach and service time from arrival to first contact
Payment accuracy, receipt provision and tariff display at the pump or counter
Ancillary offer made where it is part of the standard, and made once
Lost property, refund and complaint route stated and reachable
Journey completed within the published time, with variance recorded
Provisional

Also filed here, provisionally.

The Oil & Gas page is filed here provisionally, on the basis that its subject is forecourt and fuel-retail service rather than upstream operations. It has no home in the new twelve-sector taxonomy and it is a ranking URL, so it stays live and keeps its URL either way. Whether Oil & Gas remains a served sector is open question 8.
